When will my plants be sent?
All 2027 pre-orders will be dispatched from spring 2027. As we grow our plants naturally, exact dispatch dates will depend on the weather and growing conditions.
Plants will only be sent when they are sufficiently well established and ready to travel safely. This means your plants may not all be dispatched on exactly the same date, but we'll always aim to get them to you as soon as they are ready.
Orders are generally dispatched at the beginning of the week to minimise the time plants spend in transit over a weekend.
When your plants arrive
Please unpack your plants as soon as possible after delivery.
Your plants may look a little tired after their journey, which is completely normal. Give them a good drink of water and allow them to recover.
For plug plants, we recommend potting them into a larger pot with good-quality compost as soon as practical. This gives the roots room to develop and allows the plants to establish before they are planted into their final position.
Looking after young plants
Young plants need a little protection while they become established.
- Protect them from frost and very cold weather.
- Keep an eye out for slugs and other garden pests, which can be particularly troublesome with young plants.
- A bright, sheltered position is ideal while they are getting established.
- Keep them well watered, but avoid leaving them sitting in permanently wet compost.
- Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before planting them into their final position.
Once your plants are strong and established, they can be planted out according to the growing requirements of the individual varieties.
Thoughtful packaging
We try to keep our packaging as simple and environmentally conscious as possible.
Where practical, we use recyclable cardboard and greaseproof paper to protect your plants during their journey. Occasionally, plastic packaging may be necessary to protect plants or packaging in transit, but we try to avoid plastic wherever we can.
